Nothing Sacred - 1937

Boxer 'Slapsie Maxie Rosenbloom', who also acted in this film, gave boxing lessons to Carole Lombard before her discussion with Fredric March in this film.

This was Carole Lombard's only Technicolor film.

According to William Wellman Jr., Janet Gaynor had originally been cast as Hazel Flagg to follow up on the success of A Star is Born (1937). However, when William Wellman Sr. met Carole Lombard, he knew that no other actress could do the part justice, and convinced Selznick to cast her.

After one fight scene with Fredric March, 'Carole Lombard' had to take the following day off to recuperate from her scratches and bruises. To discourage March's attentions, she invited him to her dressing room one night; after preliminary fumbling, March discovered to his disgust that she was wearing a rubber dildo. He never bothered her again.

Carole Lombard stated that this film was one of her personal favorites.
